ELECTIVE COURSES

Cullinary Expressions

Our curriculum covers basic nutrition while teaching our students how to cook. Far more than an "activity" - these lessons are packed with education.

Alternatives are demonstrated for all recipes, teaching the students options. All lessons are gluten free, dairy free, peanut free, with alternatives taught for egg free, nut free, and grain free. Options are important! Freedom comes from choice.

The philosophy that this program is built on is that with courage, confidence and creativity, kids will learn not only how cook, but how to take care of themselves, make choices for their needs, and problem solve.

Art Techniques

Children learn a lot through art. As they draw, paint, and make collages, they are learning about thier world (colors, shapes, and sizes of objects). When they use paints, glue, and markers, children are planning, trying out new things and solving problems. As they mix paints they learn to understand that one thing can make changes in another.

This class will introduce all of the above through the use of mixed media.
